The Rouvas Gorge is situated north of the village Zaros, south-east of the Ida Mountains. There is a clear trail from the Votamos Lake (420m) trough the gorge towards the chapel of Agios Ioannis (950m). It is a steep climb but pleasant since most of the route goes through shady woodland. To walk up and down (start from Zaros) is 15 km and it takes about 6 hours.
